Inside the works at Crewe, 47130 and 40004 are receiving attention. The 40 is listed as having power unit problems and classified repairs undertaken. It was back in traffic within a few weeks. 47130 is receiving extensive classified repairs, but unlike the 40 it is still on, what appear to be, accommodation bogies. Note that it has a silver roof, a trademark of Stratford Depot. Indeed, it remained at this depot until moving to the West Country and Wales, with another brief stint at Stratford and finally to Tinsley before withdrawal in 1987.
