A wide-angle picture from the southern end of Wellingborough station

reveals the initial stages of the work to reinstate the former platform five. Access roads have been started but there is no other evidence of construction. The area to the right will be the location for a new station building, retailing and car parking. All this development is linked to the huge new housing development, named Stanton Cross, that will dominate the eastern side of Wellingborough increasing the town's size by about a third.
