On arrival at Derby station, we had another change that gave a brief opportunity to photograph activity at the southern end of the station. The Network Rail measurement train snakes its way out of the station with 43014 'The Railway Observer' at the rear. It was starting out on its day's duty as the 10.24 Derby to Crewe via Holyhead.
