158826, AW 20.09 Birmingham International-Machynlleth (1J31, 1E), Birmingham New Street station It's a shame that there were so many passengers in the way and that I was in the gloom of Birmingham New Street station as I really wanted a picture of 158826 in its new and very smart Transport for Wales/Gwaith Trafnidiaeth Cymru livery. The class 158 is pausing working the 20.09 Birmingham International to Machynlleth service that was full and standing here at New Street. It seems to have slipped under the radar a bit but we now have two state owned and operated railway companies. On the East Coast, LNER is doing an excellent job, and now in Wales, let's hope that the Welsh Government can do the same with their railway network.
