86259, outward leg of The Cumbrian Coast Express, 07.10 London Euston-Carlisle (1Z86), site of Roade station
86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' leads another of the highly successful
Cumbrian Coast Express railtours north past the site of Roade station. The 1Z86 special leaves Euston at 07.10 running to Canforth where steam takes over to complete its journey to Carlisle. The railtour then returns south via the delightful and underrated Cumbrian Coast returning to Carnforth. On this particular day, the steam leg was hauled by LMS Royal Scot class 7P 4-6-0 46115 'Scots Guardsman'.
