At the site of Castlethorpe station, this was the shot that nearly didn't get taken! A class 390 had just passed northbound with the the 1S42 as 86259 was approaching, so I thought that I was safe, only then to hear a train from behind me. Luckily, 350252 was on the up fast and going at some speed so it had cleared the front of the northbound 1Z86 just in time! Notice that 86259 is not carrying its usual headboard but one stating 'Fifty Thousand Miles' presumably denoting the mileage covered by the locomotive since preservation. Can anybody confirm this? Up until 2011, 86259 had covered some 5.7 million miles in service, quite an achievement.
