Dodworth signal box (BR, C.1959) Dodworth signal box is not an attractive structure by anybody's standards! Built in or around 1959 the BR standard box served the junction with the Dodworth colliery as well as controlling the level crossing. After being renamed Redbrook Colliery it was closed in 1987, however, the box lingered on for a number of years finally closing in 2007 when the town was by-passed and traffic on the road in the foreground was reduced to a trickle.
