57309, stabled, Crewe station Whilst waiting for our train that would take us from Crewe to Edinburgh, former Virgin Thunderbird 57309 'Pride of Crewe' was receiving some attention. When it was operated by Virgin West Coast this 57 was in a more familiar red livery and named 'Brains'. In a much earlier guise, as 47254, I photographed the locomotive on a PW train stabled in Arle loop at Cheltenham in March 1985. Keywords: 57309 Crewe station
