Whenever I visit one of the UK's 'grand' stations I

always take the opportunity to look upwards hopefully avoiding all the other users dashing round like ants rarely taking their eyes off their devices! The roof at Edinburgh Waverley is a grand affair that lets a huge amount of natural light in flooding the concourse and platforms. Through the recently restored roof glazing, the ex North British Hotel is seen now rather ostentatiously re-named the Balmoral Hotel.
