46100 'Royal Scot' leads the 16.46 Edinburgh to Tweedbank away from Waverley about to enter Calton North tunnel. 46100 is owned by the The Royal Scot Locomotive and General Trust along with a number of other superb icons of the steam age. 'Royal Scot' was built in 1927 by LMS for London to Glasgow express services, something it did until withdrawal in October 1962. After withdrawal, the loco. became famous for being a static display at Butlins in Skegness for many years. After moving to the Bressingham Steam Museum and a brief period in steam it went through an extensive overhaul and returned to the mainline last year in 2015.
