Former Carlisle Upperby MPD Now closed and fenced off, Carlisle's Upperby MPD looks a little sorry for itself. It was opened by the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway and on passing to the LMS in 1923 it gained the code of 12A then, under BR it became CL. It is currently owned by EWS and used for wagon storage. Quite what its future holds I am not sure but as with all assets such as this, I hope careful consideration is given before it is sold off for inevitable housing development.
