Slateford Junction signal box (Now home of Slateford Signalling School) (BR, 1960) I was ready for this signal box as we passed on the Pendolino that we were taking home from our Scottish trip. It is the former Slateford Junction signal box built by British Railways Scottish Region in 1960. The box closed in 1981 so only had a working life of twenty one years! In recent years it has taken on a new use becoming base for the Slateford Signalling School. Indeed, to the right of the box were a number of semaphores and some short stubs of track.
