The use of this type of barrier, even though favoured by Network Rail, is a little bit of surprise here as the road they protect goes nowhere apart from to a few houses down by the Gwendraeth estuary. Kidwelly's box is the intermediate block post between Pembrey to the east and Ferryside to the west and must be a lovely, quiet place to work.
