Frontage, Swansea station Swansea station first opened in 1850 and was built by the South Wales railway that was subsumed by the GWR a short time later in 1863. The station was a timber structure with a galvanised roof, nothing remains of this now. The present station building and frontage seen here was opened in 1934.
