Tondu signal box (GWR, 1884) Given that Tondu signal box has a extremely limited life remaining, it is quite surprising that Network Rail have cloaked it in scaffolding and appears top be giving it some maintenance. It looked as though there was work being done to the roof of the GWR Type 3 box dating from 1884. The work of the signalman will be a lot less that in past years when it was a busy junction handing a lot of coal trains with many of the 65 levers now being painted white as out of use.
