E51505, stabled, Wirksworth station
Class 101 DMC E51505 was new in early 1959 being delivered to the North Eastern Region. It was painted into BR blue in the early 1970s and then a little later into the classic blue and grey livery. Its final livery was that of Regional Railways that it wore until withdrawn from Cardiff Canton in 2000. It was part of a unit that made history in January 2014 when it was the first DMU to operate on the staunchly steam-only Bluebell Railway. It is seen here oddly sitting on its own at Wirksworth station.
