The unusual sight of a freight on the Weedon loop line. 66426 rushes past with the 10.05 Daventry (DIRFT) to Purfleet 4L98 Freightliner. It was routed this way due to engineering works on the Northampton area that is some distance down the line in the middle distance. The Freightliner first went north from DIRFT to Rugby. The locomotive then ran round the train and it headed south to this point. To get out of the way of the Virgin and London Midland workings backing up behind it, control will put it on the slow line as soon as possible. The next point south from here where they can do this is Hanslope Junction, about five miles away.
