My train north to Darlington arrives at Birmingham New Street as the 1E79 06.02 Guildford to Newcastle. To the extreme left is the tail end of 390123 that is about to leave with the 06.43 Euston to Edinburgh service. At the top left hand side of the image is Birmingham's instantly recognisable Rotunda tower. It is now used as student accommodation. I remember it in the 1970s having the famous Double Diamond neon adverts running round the top whilst I was spotting on the platform end.
