The pier train makes its way along Southport Pier. This

train replaced the battery powered trams that were introduced in 2005 following extensive refurbishment of the pier between 2000 and 2002. Unfortunately, the trams were withdrawn and sold due to cost cutting measures by the local authority in 2015.
