Having travelled up from Milton Keynes, 3980128 'City of Preston' waits at Stoke-on-Trent to continue its journey to Manchester Piccadilly as the 10.20 from Euston. This view does not show Stoke station's glazed train shed off to best effect. Whilst it's not the most appealing from this angle, the rest of the station is quite impressive being built by the North Staffordshire Railway Company opened in 1849.
