47245 & 47580, outward leg of The Cathedrals Express, 08.14 London Euston-Chester (1Z61), Victoria bridge
The two class 47s leading the The cathedrals Express from
Euston to Chester (as far as Crewe) past Victoria bridge could not be more different! Leading is West Coat's 47245 in their drab maroon livery but at least some yellow mini-snow ploughs brighten it up a bit! Tucked in behind is privately owned 47580 'County of Essex' in BR blue with the huge union flag on the side; it's a shame that they were not the other way around. Brush power led the train as far as Crewe where the passengers were treated to onward haulage to Chester behind 45699 'Galatea' via a reversal at Shrewsbury.
