Two very sad looking shunters sit stored and out of

use in Bescot yard directly behind the station. 08709 is a 1960 built machine that was withdrawn in 2011. It is clear to see that its coupling rods have been removed either for use on another shunter or perhaps for ease of movement. Behind it is 08580, also withdrawn in 2011 but a slightly earlier build, 1959.
