Bolton. 156425 arrives at platform 14 with the 12.29 Manchester Airport to Blackpool North. This service will go over to electric power when (if ever?) the long awaited north western electrification programme is completed. During my journey, I saw limited evidence of pilings and masts in place northwards from Windsor Bridge Junction so diesel power will reign for a fair while to come.
