It's all activity on arrival at Birmingham New Street. Whilst some cabbing takes place of 40024, the headboard is removed before the loco. is detached from the stock of the returning Pennine Explorer railtour. All these years on I am surprised at how powerful my little flash was attached to the base of my tiny Rollie B35 camera; it gives a good spread of illumination. The use of a flash is not something that should be encouraged and on today's railways and for obvious reasons, it is banned under the NR guidelines for photographers.
