At the eastern end of the Woodhead route was Rotherwood Exchange sidings where the wires stopped. Here, the 76s were removed from the cross-Pennine freights and diesels attached for onward movement. Rotherwood sidings was situated between Orgreave Lane (of colliery fame) and Retford Road in the district of eastern Sheffield called Woodhouse. The yard is unrecognisable today with most of it covered by the inevitable modern housing estate. In this image, whilst waiting for the 76s to run round the train, 76021, 76038, 76013, 76053 and 76031 are seen stabled waiting for their next job on Monday morning.
