Headboards have developed a bit of a reputation of being

extravagant and memorable in design. This one for the Pennine Explorer is basic but does a nice job of showing off the profile of an class 76. Whilst waiting for 40024 to back on to the train, a member of the tour staff holds the headboard ready to be attached. I wonder who won this in the usual on-train auction on the way home and if it still exists today?
