5305, outward leg of The York Circular, 13.45 York-Leeds-Harrogate-York, York station York station was awash with enthusiasts all out to see 5305 on one of a series of BR (ER) operated specials that ran from York to Leeds, to Harrogate and thence back to York (hence the name York Circular!) This departure was particularly lively and I still have the cassette recording (now digitised) taken on my ITT 1001 radio cassette recorder. Look at the people causally walking around on the platform ramp and off the end, and, you should have seen the hundreds of people that I was standing with!
