37299 and 37270 run light engine past Bathampton Junction on the GWML just east of Bath. I don't have it recorded, but it is more than likely that they were going to diverge from the mainline just behind me and then head along the Avon Valley to Westbury. 37299 looks somewhat work-stained leading the well presented 37270. 37299 survived until being cut-up at Booth's scrapyard in Rotherham at the beginning of 2013. However, 37270 is still with us as 37409 as a DRS locomotive. Indeed, at the time of writing, I observed it at Norwich station just three weeks previous to writing this text in the autumn of 2018.
