The Duke, 15.50 Pinewoods-Wells Harbour, Pinewoods station After a visit to Wells-next-the-sea we took a walk along the sea wall path to Pinewoods and the beach. My wife insisted that she could not walk back due to her recent illness (fair point I suppose!) so we took the lovely Wells Harbour Railway from Pinewoods back to Wells. Here, our return train arrives at Pinewoods with the relatively new (built in 2104) diesel 'The Duke' leading. The ten and a quarter inch gauge line opened in 1976 and has gone through several owners since and its fortunes have waxed and wained.
