By now my feet were very cold despite two pairs of socks! A class 222 Meridian heads away from me southwards working the 1B21 07.04 Lincoln to St. Pancras service. This lovely, but very cold, scene is close to the River Nene to the south of Wellingborough. The river passes through the larger of the fourteen arches that make up the viaduct. Notice the white Portacabins in the distance, these were associated with the works that Network Rail were undertaken preparing the viaduct for the arrival of the electrification and the reinstallation of the up relief line.
