The roadway to the right was once the home to

several tracks that were part of the Swindon Work's network. Beyond that were (and still are) the main running lines. Passengers passing would have seen lines of wagons, coaches and locomotives that were often lined up on these lines awaiting attention at the works. The plant to the left was the old iron foundry that is now home to the Swindon Outlet village.
