Andy, Chetnole station
Andy, Chetnole station
Andy stands on the delightfully remote station at Chetnole in Dorset. This is on the line that runs south from Castle Cary to Dorchester. It appears that the entire station was manufactured in pre-fabricated concrete units and then assembled on site, this replaced the original timber structure opened in 1933 by the GWR. It is likely that the Southern's concrete plant at Exmouth Junction was responsible for its manufacture.
