An unidentified HST in Great Western's new green livery makes its way along the sea wall just east of Dawlish. Much in evidence in the foreground and on the far side of the Exe Estuary is the famous Devon red sandstone dating from the permain period (approximately 298.9 million years). I have found that over the years, the condition of the light turns this to a bright red, to a soft orange even a slightly grey colour.
