Bere Alston signal box (derelict) (LSW, c.1890)
The former Bere Alston signal box stands on the disused platform at the station that is still open. This station was once on the L & SW mainline route that linked London to Plymouth (and beyond) but that went inland from Exeter rather than via Brunel's troubled coastal route. There is constant talk of this line being reopened to avoid further issues with the coastal route. Notice the swarm of bees that had taken up residence on the end of the signal box just above the window.
