A scene getting increasingly rare on the network, a signalmen opening the crossing gates after the passage of a train. Also, notice that the gates are of the vintage design that one would expect from some years ago, no modern day replacements here. The passage of trains is fairly infrequent at Dullingham so the signalman was not kept too busy going up and down the steps to the Great Eastern signal box just seen on the far right of the picture
