Interior, former Crewe Station A signal box, rebuilt, Crewe Heritage Centre
Crewe Station A signal box was a LNWR Type 5
box built in 1907. It was constructed with a flat roof so it could fit under the station canopy at Crewe between the Down Platform 1 and the Down through line 1. It was decommissioned during the Crewe rebuilding in 1985 and ended up being re-built here at the Crewe Heritage Centre. The track layout can be seen at the top along with its block instruments and the electropneumatic mini lever frame.
