We were pleased to see throughout or day that Southeastern

have been spending some money renovating many of their stations. A good example of the work that they have undertaken is here at Gravesend. It was designed by the architect Samuel Beazley who did a lot of work for the South Eastern Railway. It's an elegant two-storey building constructed out of the SER's favoured yellow brickwork and is frescoed with stone lining. The £19million restoration completed in 2104 is very good apart from the ghastly footbridge but this, like all the others installed, has had to be designed to facilitate disabled access.
