08454, stabled, Alstom Technology Centre, Ditton Taken from our train as it leaves Merseyside, 08454 looking very smart, is viewed at the Alston Technology Centre at Ditton. 08454 was built at Derby in 1958 and initially allocated to 17B (Burton-on-Trent) and then moved back to its birth place, 16C (Derby) where it was withdrawn in 1981. After storage, it was reinstated in 1985 ending up at Longsight.
