In the rankings of station architecture I doubt if Nuneaton would win any prizes? However, like all railway structures it has its place in history. There has been a station on this site since the LNWR opened the first one in 1847. However, by the start of the twentieth century this had proved to be inadequate so was rebuilt for the second time in 1915. This building was designed by the notable architect Reginald Wynn Owen who did a lot of work for the LNWR; he was obviously having an off day when it came to Nuneaton!
