37422, 06.50 Crewe Gresty Bridge-Wembley LE (0A68), Northampton station Whilst our train waited in Northampton station the signallers allowed 37422, doing the 06.50 Gresty Bridge to Wembley light engine move, to pass and continue its up journey. Just out of sight to the right was a fair collection of spotters who had the 'gen' and had come to photograph its passage. It's pretty impressive to still be able to photograph a 53 year old locomotive on the network and goes to show what a great design these Type 3s were when ordered as part of the Modernisation Plan.
