66160 heads the regular 15.05 Daventry (DIRFT) to Dollands Moor

empty cargo wagons working. This is a long train that runs pretty much daily and one that has a particular sound quite different to all others. As the southbound is running empty, I presume the sound from the bogies must resonate inside the empty steel wagons to make this noise. The balancing northbound working runs full of imported water bottles and has a very different sound as a result. I am acutely aware of these sounds (and all others on their section of line) as I live in the white house in this picture that can be seen just above the front of the class 66 in the middle distance.
