As we slowed down for our stop at Crewe, pictures of the Diesel Depot became slightly easier. Here 47501 is flanked by an unidentified class 25, 24036 and 24073. Both the 24s were withdrawn at this time, 24036 only a few days prior to this picture being taken. Both were taken to Doncaster and broken up. Notice the familiar sight of Rail House to the extreme right of the photograph, so noticeable as it is one of the only high-rise buildings in the area and one that is visible some distance from Crewe but heralding one's approach to the town.
